Junior Achievement Balkans join forces: First consortium meeting of the YSBE Net project in Cyprus

When Junior Achievement organisations across the Balkans join forces, social entrepreneurship gains new momentum. On 5–6 February 2026, representatives from seven countries met in Cyprus for the first consortium meeting of the YSBE Net project (Youth Social Business & Entrepreneurship Network), an Erasmus+ initiative that supports social entrepreneurship education and capacity building for organisations working with young people.

The meeting brought together Junior Achievement organisations from Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia.

During the two-day meeting, partners worked on the strategic planning of the project’s implementation, defining roles, timelines, and key milestones. Through coordination sessions and capacity-building workshops, they shaped the framework for upcoming activities, aiming to provide meaningful learning and networking opportunities for young people interested in developing social entrepreneurial initiatives.

The programme also included participation in a Conference on Entrepreneurship Education focused on Social Entrepreneurship, featuring international speakers, as well as workshop sessions in Nicosia on Social Entrepreneurship, bringing together teachers and members of the Junior Achievement network. Discussions focused on the role of entrepreneurship education as a tool for social impact and for strengthening young people’s active engagement in their communities.

In the coming period, YSBE Net will implement:

  • A social entrepreneurship course for high school students
  • Training programmes for teachers and youth workers
  • An online hackathon focused on real social challenges
  • Two international Trade Fairs, hosted in Bulgaria and Cyprus

Through these activities, the project aims to build a cross-border cooperation network that will empower youth organisations and contribute to the development of social entrepreneurship skills across Europe.
