JA StartUp Programme Launch

Junior Achievement Cyprus announces for the second consecutive year the launch of the JA StartUp programme. The programme provides students (aged 18 to 30) the opportunity to start their own business, giving them an idea of how their talents could be used to start a business.

More specifically, students have the opportunity to develop their own business idea and enables them to use their skills in various areas and activities of a business. Students form groups and during the spring semester they work on the development of a business idea, with the support of professors and mentors (mentors are assigned by the Organisation and they come from the business world).

The programme is implemented with great success in 500 Universities from 20 countries at European level and with the participation of over 17,000 students per year. Although it was piloted in Cyprus the previous academic year, the success of the program was evident in the European Enterprise Challenge, where our national team, AID4ALL, managed to conquer the top of Europe, winning the First Prize. This year we follow the development of the program with great pleasure as we notice the large participation of different departments from Public and Private Universities all over Cyprus.

The programme will begin on February 5th, 2021 with the training of teachers and mentors and will end in June 2021 with the Final Phase of the competition. The program is implemented with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in Cyprus.
