SPIEP is a collaborative initiative aimed at transforming sport science education to better align with societal challenges and the needs of the labor market. By integrating social innovation, digitalization, and complex problem-solving into the curriculum, SPIEP equips students with the skills to promote health-enhancing physical activity, especially among vulnerable populations. Through cross-sector collaboration between universities and various stakeholder organizations, the project fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and employability in sport science. Ultimately, SPIEP aspires to create a sustainable, international platform that advances education, research, and policy to combat physical inactivity and improve public health.
SPIEP will develop three modules focusing on social innovation, digitalization, and complex problem-solving. The idea is that these modules will enhance their skills to promote physical activity in the population, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups. Handbook and resources of all the modules will be published on this project web site.
SPIEP aims to:
- Improve the quality and relevance of sport science education across Europe.
- Empower sport science students with the skills required to innovate and lead health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) initiatives.
- Increase awareness and participation in sport and physical activity, particularly among vulnerable populations.
