Teachers train teachers: European experience, collective learning and contemporary practices in Cyprus

How is the European educational experience translated into practice? JA Cyprus brings the answer to Cyprus, organizing a modern, experiential education for teachers, based on knowledge, collaboration and exchange of experiences.

Three Cypriot teachers, Eleni Christou, Andreas Nicolas and Andreas Antoniou, share what they experienced and learned at the European project Train the Trainer in Financial Capability & Entrepreneurship, held in Malta in October 2025, in an open educational activity for their colleagues in Cyprus.

The programme in Malta, organized by the JA Malta Foundation in collaboration with JA Europe, brought together 15 teachers from 11 European countries and focused on modern methods of financial literacy and business education, through practical tools and experiential activities.

JA Cyprus invites educators of all levels to participate in this face-to-face educational experience, which enhances the collective development and networking of the educational community.

Learning by teachers, for teachers

The workshop in Cyprus is based on the model of the “multiplier effect”, ensuring that the knowledge acquired at the European level is disseminated and strengthens the educational community more broadly. The JA Cyprus office will be transformed into a place of meeting, collaboration and exchange of practices, where participants:

  • know modern, applicable approaches to financial literacy and entrepreneurship,
  • experiment with tools that they can use directly in the classroom,
  • learn through real experiences of their colleagues.
