JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT CYPRUS receives the Model Organisation Award 2024 at the JA Europe Annual General Assembly
JA Europe organized with great success the Annual General Assembly and the Stem4entrepreneurship Forum & Annual Gala Dinner held at the Fine Arts Museum in Brussels, on the 19th of November. The event provided a platform for discussing the future of education, innovation, and workforce readiness in Europe. It brought together leaders in education, industry, and policymaking for an exclusive event aimed at advancing STEM and entrepreneurial education across Europe.
The evening featured the STEM4Entrepreneurship Forum & Annual Gala Dinner, where young innovators from across Europe shared their experiences and insights alongside policymakers and industry pioneers. Keynote speakers included Ms. Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy, and Mr. Victor Negrescu, Vice President of the European Parliament.
The Republic of Cyprus Member of the European Parliament Mr. Michalis Hadjipantela participated in the event endorsing JA Cyprus’ vision for advancing STEM education across the continent.
Speakers also included industry representatives, alumni, students and start-ups involved in key JA Europe initiatives such as the Sci-Tech Challenge in partnership with ExxonMobil and Girls Go Circular with support from the European Institute of Technology (EIT). Antonella Sopranzetti, Director, Government Relations and Advocacy Europe, Low Carbon Solutions/Upstream at ExxonMobil, also participated in the panel discussion. Eleni Elia from the American Academy of Larnaca and JA Cyprus. Alumni participated in the event as a student of the winning team of the Sci-Tech Challenge 2024. The Sci-Tech Challenge, an initiative of ExxonMobil Europe and JA Europe, celebrated 15 years of implementation. At JA Cyprus we are particularly proud of the implementation of the programme in Cyprus over the last five years. More than 1000 students have been trained in STEM education proposing innovative and sustainable solutions in the energy sector.
The event ended with the Annual Gala Dinner and the Awards Ceremony, during which JA Cyprus received the Model Organisation Award 2024 received by JA Cyprus CEO Mrs.Antigoni Komodiki and MEP Mr. Michalis Hadjipantela.
