JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT CYPRUS 2020-2021 INNOVATION CAMP – “Adjust!”

On Thursday, 10 December 2020, Junior Achievement Cyprus will host the Innovation Camp 7.0, which will take place digitally from 08:45 – 17:30.  The Innovation Camp “Adjust” aims at encouraging young people to use their skills in enterprising and innovative ways, fostering their employability and entrepreneurial flair in the process. The fact that this year will be run digitally will also boost the students’ digital skills!

During this special event, students coming from both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot backgrounds, aged between 15 and 18, from private high schools from all over Cyprus, will have the chance to cooperate in suggesting an innovative idea towards a challenge that will be given to them. Students will have only a few hours to learn to work as a team with other students, to collectively shape their ideas, in order to propose an innovative solution that could be applied to the case of Cyprus. At the end of the day, all teams will present their solutions to a panel of successful and experienced entrepreneurs. The winning team will take part in an international student programme next summer, while the second and third place winners will receive gift vouchers kindly offered by Cyta.

The whole event will be supported from mentors coming from the entrepreneurial community of Cyprus. The mentors will work with the students and support them when developing their ideas and presentations.

Participating teachers will also have the very interesting opportunity to participate in an Entrepreneurial Teachers’ Training and workshop, facilitated by Dr Charalambos Vrasidas, Professor at the University of Nicosia.

The final ceremony will be broadcast online on Junior Achievement Cyprus Facebook, YouTube page and website. Stay tuned!

The event is supported by the Embassy of the United States in Nicosia and local partners. Junior Achievement Cyprus would like to express their warm thanks.
