JA Cyprus Attends the JA Europe Annual Conference: Transforming JA for Impact
Between 30 November and 2 December 2015, JA staff from across Europe gathered together at the JA Europe Annual Conference, where they shared ideas and information about the network, its programmes and the organisation in general. The theme of the Annual Conference, which took place in Luxembourg, was Transforming JA for Impact, and proved an excellent opportunity for JA staff to enhance their knowledge, as well as to connect with colleagues from other member countries.
Eloiza Savvidou, CEO of JA Cyprus, and Elena Michael, Programme Coordinator, joined 110 people from 35 countries.
In her welcoming speech, Caroline Jenner, CEO of JA Europe, noted that “2015 had been a year of unprecedented growth in terms of participation in JA Programmes: 7%!” In fact, the Company Programme showed an increase in participation of 15%.
This year, the JA network developed and launched Europe’s unique Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning. This Guide is a practical and useful tool for teachers in primary, secondary and vocational schools. It includes more than 125 entrepreneurial tools and techniques, examples of good practices, quality framework documents and assessment tools that assist with entrepreneurial learning in any subject area, as well as for any age group. The Guide is available in 9 languages, including Greek.
Furthermore, eleven schools from eleven countries across Europe (including Greece), were awarded the 2015 Entrepreneurial School Award, a national and European recognition of the best schools championing entrepreneurship education. The awards ceremony took place at the European Parliament on 15 October 2015, in the presence of several EU officials, JA Europe Board of Directors and other distinguished guests.
