Invitation – Company Of The Year Competition 2019- 2020 Finals And Awards Ceremony

It is with great pleasure that Junior Achievement of Cyprus announces the 7th Final Annual Competition for the “Company of the Year” 2020. This year the competition will be broadcasted digitally on June 5 at 18:00 -20:00 as part of the measures against the spread of Covid-19 announced from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus.

The broadcast of the digital finale will be released through the Organisation’s YouTube channel giving everyone the opportunity to discover the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of the promising new generation. The final competition is the culmination of the efforts of more than 400 students, aged 15-18, who over the past 8 months have set up and run their own business. The winner will be the team with the highest score in three areas: the evaluation of the Annual Report, the evaluation of the presentation of the actions of each group and the interview with the jury committee.

The 10 Student Companies of the final are:

Apart from the main title of ’Company of the Year 2020‘, the first and second runner-up team awards, the student entrepreneurs will receive signature awards for their achievements in key areas of entrepreneurial activities.
The winning team will represent Cyprus in the JA Europe Competition that will be held for the first time online, by Junior Achievement Portugal in July.

Through the Company Programme, students, aged 15-18, are offered the opportunity to learn through experience how to take a business idea, from concept to actuality, by forming and running their own real companies for a whole academic year. The programme aims at equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for a successful professional career in a globalized economy.
