ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
At a time when cultural heritage is not adequately promoted , the Cultural BEES (www.culturalbees.eu) project stands out for its effort to preserve and promote it through the enhancement of entrepreneurship and innovation. Cultural BEES is a pioneering three-year project, co-funded by the European Union, specifically by the European Programme Creative Europe, which aims to develop scientific educational material for young people from 15 to 30 years old. The initiative aims to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in the cultural heritage sector by providing young people with the necessary knowledge and skills.
The educational material of the project will be designed to help young people develop their ideas, projects and businesses in the field of Cultural and Creative Industries. Inspired by the proven “Inspire-Prepare-Succeed” model of Junior Achievement, the Cultural BEES project will offer a complete training programme ready to support the development of ideas, projects and businesses in the field of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI).
The training programme aims to provide tools and skills so that young people can develop business ideas that are sustainable, inclusive and innovative. The pilot implementation of the project will be implemented in Cyprus, Bulgaria and Italy, where 1000 secondary and tertiary education students will be trained. At the end of the programme, at least 20 new business ideas in the fields of cultural heritage are expected to be created, of which 10% are expected to be commercialised.
The project is implemented by 11 organizations from 6 European countries and is coordinated by JA Europe. In Cyprus the project partners are Junior Achievement Cyprus and InnoEUsphere, while the UNESCO National Commission participates in the implementation of the project as an associate partner.
