Entrepreneurial Teaching Day Junior Achievement Cyprus

On Saturday, November 2, Junior Achievement Cyprus organized the Entrepreneurial Teaching Day at the Unesco Amphitheatre of the University of Nicosia. The purpose of the seminar was to appreciate the contribution of teachers in the Company Programme, offered to high school students aged 15-19 since 2013, as well as to train the teachers in entrepreneurship and contribute to their development as professional teachers.

Initially, the speakers at the seminar were Dr. Angeliki Kokkinaki and Dr. Despo Ktoridou, University of Nicosia Professors who spoke about the ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation Promotion System based on IT tools’. Mrs. Christiana Iakovidou, Managing Director of Cleopatra Hotel, analysed the impacts and attitudes we need to keep on potential changes in the business world. Next, Mr. George Vou, Entrepreneur and StartUp Coach, described his own story and talked about How to Start Your Own Business. Mrs. Konstantina Logotheti, PwC’s Marketing Director, analyzed “The Secrets of Marketing”. Last year’s Company Program winners, Ballywool, shared their experiences from their journey into the world of entrepreneurship.

The Entrepreneurial Teaching Day was suggested by the members of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors in order to reward the contribution of teachers who dedicate considerable time and effort to implement the Company Programme.

The event was attended by Ms. Mary Sergiou on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Mr. Andreas Papadopoulos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement Cyprus, Mr. Konstantinos Loizidis, CEO Astrobank, Mr. Evgenios Evgeniou, CEO PWC, Mr. Michael Michael, Exxon Mobil Cyprus Operations Support Manager.
