Kick-off Meeting of the European Programme Girls who Lead: Navigating Leadership Skills in a Rapidly Evolving Europe
On 15–16 December 2025, the first in-person kick-off meeting of the new European Erasmus+ project “Girls who Lead: Navigating Leadership Skills in a Rapidly Evolving Europe” took place at the offices of Junior Achievement Cyprus in Nicosia.
The European meeting was attended by seven representatives from six partner organisations: Junior Achievement Latvia (project coordinator), Junior Achievement Cyprus, EMPRESAS CON VALORES (Spain), IED Estonia (Estonia), SYNTHESIS Center for Research and Education (Cyprus) and Global Women in Tech (Romania).
The project aims to empower girls aged 16–18, with a particular focus on young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, to develop critical leadership skills needed in the digital and rapidly changing modern world. The duration of the project is 24 months and is co-funded by the European Commission.
Girls who Lead aspires to create an integrated skill development model, adapted to the needs of the new generation of women leaders. The program focuses on the cultivation of digital, green, entrepreneurial, emotional and social skills, skills that the modern European reality highlights as necessary to promote gender equality in leadership.
The expected results of the project are expected to contribute substantially to the formation of a new generation of girls who dare, lead and transform their communities, with passion and commitment to social solidarity, sustainability and respect for the environment and local communities.
In the context of the kick-off meeting, the philosophy, objectives and methodology of the program were presented, while at the same time the implementation schedule and deliverables of the first phase of the project were defined.
Junior Achievement Cyprus consistently continues its mission to empower young men and women through entrepreneurship, financial literacy and life skills development programs, as an active member of the global JA Worldwide network.
