Junior Achievement Cyprus: Entrepreneurship at university Start of applications for the JA StartUp programmeme

There is never a “perfect time” to start a company, but there are the right opportunities to take the first step. The university years can act as a catalyst for students to discover their interests, build a network, gain new perspectives on the world and take risks, all factors critical to business success.

Junior Achievement Cyprus (JA Cyprus) is pleased to announce the continuation of efforts to encourage business ideas and innovation, through the JA StartUp Programmeme, giving students the opportunity to develop their own company while acquiring skills that will help them in their career path.

JA StartUp is a practical, experiential experience, through which participants:

  • They learn to create and operate their own business,
  • Understand and create business & marketing plans, and
  • They develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and strategic planning.

The programme is offered free of charge to all students, regardless of university, and is part of a pan-European network with 20,000+ entries per year.

Participants have the opportunity to compete in the National Competition, where the 10 best teams present their business idea to a live audience and jury.

The winning team will have the honor to represent Cyprus at the largest entrepreneurship event in Europe, Gen-E, which this year will take place in Riga, Latvia.

Through the programmes, students will receive full Business Education, important prizes, support from mentors from the business world, access to a platform with rich educational material, webinars by experts, networking opportunities and much more.

The programme is supported by the company MetLife and the Research and Innovation Foundation.
