1st Trade Fair of the Entrepreneurship Programme in Apprenticeship Schools

Junior Achievement Cyprus in collaboration with Metlife will organise for the first time the Trade Fair of the Entrepreneurship Programme in Apprenticeship Schools on Monday 29 May 2023 at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia between the hours of 10:00 – 13:00.

35 students from the Apprenticeship schools of Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca are participating in the programme.  Guided by their school teachers and MetLife volunteers, explored how to realize a business proposal from the idea stage to reality. The students had a hands-on experience in running a real business, from team formation, business plan development, product development, to marketing and sales.

Three teams, one from each school, will participate in the trade fair and they will be given the opportunity to develop their communication skills as they are asked to attract visitors from the shopping mall to visit their stands, presenting their innovative product or service in the best possible way.

The Entrepreneurship in the Apprenticeship programme is personalised to the interests of pupils aged 14 to 17 who drop out of compulsory education early. The aim is to encourage them to develop skills that could improve their working assurance capabilities.

The programme has been embraced by MetLife, that has been supporting the programme for 5 years, both with financial support and with the engagement of their staff in programme activities.
