Circular<\/strong>\u201d, an online learning programme on the circular economy. Promoted by the EIT Raw Materials and JA Europe, Girls Go Circular aims to equip at least 50,000 schoolgirls aged 14-18 with digital and entrepreneurial skills by 2027.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-qcpssb-e6001f286ca89d08b805711b4cad4e0f'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='tab' role='tab' tabindex='0' data-fake-id='#tab-id-2' aria-controls='tab-id-2-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" ><span class='tab_icon' aria-hidden='true' data-av_icon='\ue823' data-av_iconfont='entypo-fontello'><\/span>Description of the programme<\/div><div id='tab-id-2-content' class='tab_content' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>According to the European Commission\u2019s Women in\u00a0Digital Scoreboard 2019, women represent only\u00a034%\u00a0of STEM graduates\u00a0(Science, Technology, Engineering, and\u00a0Mathematics)\u00a0and\u00a018%\u00a0of ICT specialists (Information\u00a0and Communications Technology).<br \/>\nThe project supports\u00a0Action 13 \u2013 Encourage women\u2019s participation in\u00a0STEM\u00a0of the European Commission\u2019s Digital Education\u00a0Action Plan and contributes to closing the gender gap\u00a0when it comes to the number of women active in the digital\u00a0and entrepreneurial sectors in Europe. Dismantling\u00a0gender stereotypes and raising awareness of the\u00a0opportunities that STEM disciplines offer is crucial to\u00a0changing the current perception of the digital industry and\u00a0STEM disciplines amongstgirls\u00a0and young women. This\u00a0endeavour will not only contribute to a more inclusive\u00a0Europe but also invite innovative perspectives, leading\u00a0to better opportunities for everyone.<br \/>\nAt the core of the project is the\u00a0Circular\u00a0Learning Space\u00a0(CLS). \u00a0An online learning platform including multiple\u00a0modules\u00a0that impart digital skills while exploring the\u00a0circular\u00a0economy from different angles. While the\u00a0activities proposed challenge students to use digital\u00a0tools to complete assignments, the focus on the\u00a0circular\u00a0economy provides knowledge about the big challenges\u00a0of our time, empowering students to become agents of\u00a0change in the socio-ecological transition.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-nkaegr-88a8a07d84a3918407a2f5282244c5fc'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='tab' role='tab' tabindex='0' data-fake-id='#tab-id-3' aria-controls='tab-id-3-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" ><span class='tab_icon' aria-hidden='true' data-av_icon='\ue84f' data-av_iconfont='entypo-fontello'><\/span>Thematic Modules<\/div><div id='tab-id-3-content' class='tab_content' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><ol>\n<li><strong>Metals and the Circular Economy<br \/>\n<\/strong>A new approach is needed for the mining and metals industry. The high value of many metals and the environmental cost of their extraction makes it imperative to recycle, recover and reuse them. Check out this module to understand how metals can be extracted and used more sustainably.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fashion and the Circular Economy<\/strong><br \/>\nClothes and textiles should have a higher utilisation rate and re-enter the economy after use, instead of ending up in landfill. Learn about the concept of circular fashion and its impact on the economy and the environment, and create your own business model.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rethinking Plastics<\/strong><br \/>\nBuilding a circular economy for plastics requires a complete thinking of how it is designed and used. Research the benefits and problems of using plastics, discover solutions to tackle the global plastic waste crisis and propose alternatives for producing goods without plastic packaging<\/li>\n<li><strong>A Circular Economy for Smartphones and Electronic Devices<\/strong><br \/>\nMobile phones contain a lot of precious metals and minerals. Therefore, it is essential that we keep them working as long as possible and the raw materials that constitute them are recycled, reused ore disposed of properly. Find out about the impact of smartphones and other electronic devices on the environment and learn<br \/>\nhow to create a circular economy for ICT appliances.<\/li>\n<li><strong>E-waste and the Circular Economy<\/strong><br \/>\nThis module looks at the growing problems of E-waste. It explores the importance of improving the collection, sorting and recycling of E-waste as well as the role a circular economy can play in eliminating waste in the first place.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Robotics and the Circular Economy<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are currently living in the new era of Manufacturing, a so-called Industry 4.0, in which innovative technologies such as Robotics and Artificial Intelligence are playing an essential part. Industry 4.0 bears enormous opportunities to enable circular economy in which end of life products are reused, remanufactured and recycled. Throughout this module, you will learn and understand how these technologies are changing the industry to make it more sustainable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tackling Climate Change Through Circular Consumption<br \/>\n<\/strong>This module emphasises the role of the circular economy in tackling climate change. It gives an overview of the environmental issues relating to consumer goods and indicates how adopting circular consumption practices can help us reduce humanity\u2018s climate impact.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Circular Economy of Food in Cities<\/strong><br \/>\nCities &#8211; that\u2019s where 80% of food will be consumed by 2050 and most of the population will live. Cities can be key to driving circular change and transform the food system. It\u2019s one of the most ambitious challenges of our time &#8211; if we get it right, we\u2019ll help avoid a climate crisis, restore biodiversity, improve human health and reconnect people with their food \u2013 all while creating new business opportunities. It is recommended for at least these 3 units a time of approximately 4 hours. Every thematic module has a different completion time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Only girls can participate in the programme?<\/strong><br \/>\nEven though, the goal of the program is to reduce the digital gap between the two sexes, by equipping 14-18 year-old girls with digital and entrepreneurial skills, all students regardless of their gender can participate in the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does the programme provide you with a Certificate? <\/strong><br \/>\nOnce a participant has completed the first two introductory modules (A: Introduction to Online Safety and Etiquette + B:Introduction to the Circular Economy) along with one of the 8 Thematic Modules, then they are eligible for a certificate. Moreover, a participant can receive up to 8 certificates if all of the 8 Thematic modules are completed successfully.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a possibility for the students to continue using the platform, even after the programme finishes?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, at the moment that a student creates an account in the platform, he\/she has the ability to log in at any time and even complete up
