The Startup Ecosystem in Cyprus shows positive dynamics with significant increases from 2021. Cyprus in recent years has evolved into an important entrepreneurial center for the Mediterranean, where large shipping companies and financial services companies have chosen to be based. So, it is clear that a startup based here has significant development prospects.
Junior Achievement Cyprus (JA Cyprus) for the fourth consecutive year continues its efforts to encourage entrepreneurial ideas and innovation, through the JA StartUp Programme, allowing students to develop their own companies while acquiring skills that will help them in their careers.
JA StartUp is a hands-on experience where students experience the start, development, and operation of their businesses, discover the wonderful world of entrepreneurship, and work under real conditions. The Programme is offered free of charge to all students, of any university, and is implemented every year with the participation of 20,000+ students across Europe!
Participants have the opportunity to compete in the National Competition, where the top 10 teams present their business idea to a live audience and jury.
The winning team has the honor to represent Cyprus at the biggest entrepreneurship event in Europe, Gen-E.
Through the programme, students will receive full Entrepreneurship Education, prizes exceeding €3000, support from mentors from the business world, access to a platform with rich educational material, webinars from experts, networking opportunities, and much more.
The programme is supported by ASBIS and the Research and Innovation Foundation.
