On the 29th of October, Eloiza Savvidou, JA Cyprus CEO, offered a two-hour training session to 30 individuals coming from the Cyprus business world. The mentors’ will support high school students participating in the ‘Company Programme’ creating a bridge between the academic environment and ‘real’ world. Using her own unique energizing style and special presentation skills, Eloiza introduced them to the mission and objectives of both ‘Company Programme’ and Junior Achievement Cyprus in general, and described mentors’ critical contribution to the development and implementation of successful and viable entrepreneurial ideas by students.
Mentors’ crucial role consists in bridging schools with business landscape by sharing with students their knowledge and experience, entrepreneurial skills and competencies, and providing students with their useful advice and guidance.
Experienced staff members from Piraeus Bank, Metlife Alico, CYTA, the University of Nicosia, MS Jacovides as well as a handful of passionate entrepreneurs, have been offered to voluntarily assist high school students with their yearly attempt to initiate and sell their own innovative product/service, develop and run their own company.
Last year, both students and business mentors admitted that their interaction has been a rather learning-generating and beneficial journey for both parties. In reality, this is a learning process for all of us!
